Privacy policy

The short version. Kretsa records where you go and what you pick up there. That record stays on your phone and is never uploaded. Three things do leave the device, each only when you use the feature that needs it: a sentence you type to create a reminder, a shop name you search for, and a list you explicitly choose to share.
There is no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind.

What stays on your phone, always
This is most of what the app holds, and none of it is sent anywhere:
- Your reminders, their checklists, and any prices you noted
- Your location and the geofences the operating system monitors for you
- Every completion Kretsa learns from — what you acquired, where, and when — and the shopping patterns derived from it
- The places Kretsa has inferred you visit
- Your settings
Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. More → Settings → Forget what I've learned clears the learned history without uninstalling.
Location
Kretsa asks for location access, including Always access on both platforms. It needs this to do the one thing it exists for: notice that you have arrived at, or left, a place you asked to be reminded about, while the app is closed.
Location is used on the device to register geofences with the operating system and to show how far away a place is. Your position is not transmitted to us or to anyone else, with one narrow exception described below. Granting only While using the app leaves the app working, but reminders will only fire while it is open.
What leaves the device, and when

The place a shared list is pinned to is a coordinate, and it is shared deliberately with the people you invited — that is the point of sharing it. Nothing else about your movements travels with it.
Your account
Kretsa creates an anonymous account so that shared lists can tell people apart. It has no email address, no password and no name, and is not linked to your identity. If you later add an email address so your lists survive a new phone, that address is stored by Supabase and used only to sign you in.
You can remove it at any time — deleting your account and data explains how, both from inside the app and by request if you have already uninstalled.
Keeping it
On-device data is kept until you delete it. Text sent for reminder creation is not stored by us; Anthropic's retention is governed by their privacy policy. Shared lists are kept while the list exists. A daily count of how many times each installation used the AI feature is kept so that one device cannot exhaust the service; it is tied to a random identifier, not to you.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and may object to processing. Because almost everything is on your device, you can exercise most of this yourself by clearing data in the app or uninstalling it. For anything held on our servers, see deleting your account and data, or write to privacy@kretsa.app.
You may also complain to a supervisory authority — in Sweden that is Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY), imy.se.
Children
Kretsa is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what leaves your device, the app will say so before the change takes effect rather than relying on you re-reading this page.
